John Mayers is a former Baylor Bears placekicker who put together a highly productive collegiate career from 2018 to 2022. A product of Flower Mound, Texas, Mayers emerged as a clutch performer for the Bears, becoming the only player in program history to earn Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week honors twice in a single season. Over his 36-game career, he converted 34 of 45 field goals and 120 of 122 extra-point attempts, totaling 222 points. He is perhaps best remembered for his poise in high-pressure situations, including a game-winning 30-yard field goal against Kansas State in 2020 and a game-tying 19-yarder against Texas Tech that forced overtime in 2019.
